To create an operational manual of all back-office processes optimised for efficiency and available to the whole team to support a virtual office model
Our client had been given notice on their office and, unable to find a suitable alternative office location, they were exploring the idea of working from the cloud from multiple locations. With working practices that had grown organically, a lack of clearly defined roles and responsibilities hindering task management, a large proportion of work still managed through an ad hoc paper trail, and a general lack of transparency across all areas of the business, the management team were finding it difficult to make informed decisions about the future.
The OpsAngel team kick-started the project by meeting with team members individually to understand their personal frustrations with the current working practices and their hopes for the project outcome. As information was gathered, a full Business Blueprint was created capturing all the various activities across the 6 super-functions of the business. The client had a small but incredibly dedicated and busy team and the visual representation of the task ahead allowed the team to immediately see the tasks that they were involved in and how these related to other areas of the business.
Our client has successfully transitioned from a bricks and mortar office set-up to a fully functioning virtual office. And they are thriving.
